About Us

We moved from Wales to Slovenia in 2020 and have spent the past few years renovating our home and building Discovering Slovenia — a place created for cyclists, runners, and outdoor enthusiasts who want to explore the Kamnik–Savinja Alps.

Lawrence, a triathlon and endurance coach, has spent countless hours riding and running the local roads, climbs, trails, and valleys, from Luče all the way to the Austrian border. Every route, viewpoint, coffee stop, and strudel break has been discovered the long way — by exploring on foot or on two wheels.

At Discovering Slovenia, we welcome guests who want to experience this beautiful country at their own pace — whether that means relaxed cycling holidays, challenging training blocks, trail running adventures, or uncovering Slovenia’s charming towns and rich alpine culture.

Stay with us and enjoy a comfortable, athlete-friendly base with local knowledge, personalised route suggestions, and the freedom to ride, run, or explore as much as you like.
